Walk down a bit west on Tahquitz Canyon Way just past Palm Canyon Dr. and you will find one the most luxurious restaurants in the Coachella Valley, Le Vallauris. And as if having such a title wasn’t enough, the landmark restaurant happens to be in a historic landmark building, the former home of George B. Roberson, son of local pioneer and my personal inspiration, Nellie Coffman. Le Vallauris opened in 1974 by co-owner Paul Bruggmans and has been on top of the list of popular restaurants for those wishing to experience decadent French/Mediterranean cuisine. The feel of the restaurant is reminiscent of classic high end dinning, with lush furnishings and waiters dressed elegantly in tuxedos. And the food, well, there’s a reason it is a Palm Springs Local favorite. Menu marvels such as their Foie Gras Ravioli and House Smoked Salmon, are only a few reasons why treating yourself to this Coachella Valley gem is a must. Reservations are suggested and although dress codes in the desert have given way to a casual society, dressing up to go to Le Vallauris just seems like the right thing to do. Bon Appetite!
