In a small strip mall next to the Century Theater in La Quinta, sits the newly opened My Thai restaurant. The restaurant opened in early 2015 by Owner and Chef Sathin, and has been well received. The Thailand native has had a passion for Thai cuisine since she was a young child and has trained under the best chefs in Bangkok. Now she is living her dream, sharing her expertise in Thai cuisine with the Coachella Valley public in her own restaurant.
Upon entering My Thai, you will find yourself greeted by an eagerly friendly staff and seated in the well-proportioned and styled dining room area or at the open kitchen counter. If you're stopping by there during lunch, try their moderately priced specials ($9.95-$11.95) that include soup or salad. My Thai also offers fabulous appetizer selections such as the delightful Crab Rangoon, deep fried wontons filled with crab and cream cheese served with a tangy sweet and sour sauce.
Entree highlights include the Green Curry, green curry paste w/coconut milk, bamboo shoot, green beans, eggplant and basil, with chicken, pork or shrimp, and the colorfully traditional Pad Thai, pan fried thin rice noodles w/egg, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts and scallions, just to name a few. The entrees have a degree of heat that you can choose from. The heat is ranked from 1-5, 5 being the hottest. If you do like it hot, but still want to be able to feel your tongue, number 3 is highly suggested.
